As you approach the gates of Ragnar's Hamlet, you are stopped by the guards, and asked the purpose of your visit. This city is guarded, archers, tarn wires, the whole bit, and is RP'ed out regularly. Leave the dumb stuff at the falls. West of Ar's Station on the river I had visited Jort's Ferry, Point Alfred, Jasmine, Siba, Sais, and Sulport. I had stopped also at Hammerfest and Ragnar's Hamlet, the latter actually, now, a good-sized town. Its growth might be contrasted with that of Tetrapoli, much further west on the river. Ragnar's Hamlet began as a small village and, from this central nucleus, expanded. Rogue of Gor - 63
Special Interests - Ragnar's Hamlet Inn The Inn is large, clean and well furnished. The lower level consists of a large room where many evenings are spent in social gathering, and a well stocked kitchen. There is no kitchen master, all meals are prepared by the girls. The upper level consists of the guest rooms. Two are family suites with private baths, the other eight are smaller, and make use of the bath at the end of the hall. Welcome
Special Interests - Stratton Hall RHGor Home of the Administrator, Stratton Hall overlooks the Vosk River Floor Plan
Special Interests - Gardens of RHGorTS As you enter the gardens of Ragnar's Hamlet, Lar Torvis dapples through the blanket of leaves above, the atmosphere is one of peace and contentment. Your attention is drawn to the stream as sounds of gently flowing water spills over rocks. The scent of exotic flowers fill the air, relaxing your senses, and offering a magnificent blend of color.
Special Interests - RHGorTS Docks Along the North side of the city, runs the Vosk River. The docks are always busy, imports and exports as well as a means of arrival for many of the cities visitors. Jonah Talbot, a registered RoSoG and SRoG Shipwright, can usually be found here, at the connecting shipyard, or at the public building in his offices.
In all, nineteen towns had become members of the League, Turmus, Ven, Tetrapoli, Port Cos, Tafa, Victoria, Fina, Ragnar's Hamlet, Hammerfest, Sulport, Sais, Siba, Jasmine, Point Alfred, Jort's Ferry, Forest Port, Iskander, Tancred's Landing and White Water. Guardsman - 235
| Special Interests - RHGorTS Clinic On the first day the Physician, a quiet man in the green garments of his caste, examined me, thoroughly. The instruments he used, the tests he performed, the samples he required were not unlike those of Earth. Of special interest to me was the fact that this room, primitive though it might be, was lit by what, in Gorean, is called an energy bulb, an invention of the Builders. I could see neither cords nor battery cases. Yet the room was filled with a soft, gentle white light, which the physician could regulate by rotating the base of the bulb. Further, certain pieces of his instrumentation were clearly far from primitive. For example, there was a small machine with gauges and dials. In this he would place slides, containing drops of blood and urine, flecks of tissue, a strand of hair. With a stylus he would note readings on the machine, and, on the small screen at the top of the machine, I saw, vastly enlarged, what reminded me of an image witnessed under a microscope. | Special Interests - RHGorTS Metal Shop A large forge is the center of this building. The front walls lined with display cases and shelves, Weapons of various sorts to dainty ear rings. The back half of the building is filled with tools of the trade, metal ores, a water trough. |
Special Interests - RHGor Bathhouse The large pool and encompassing walkway are of marble, dark blue and the color of sand. Warm waters glimmer with the scent of veminium. A fountain at one side, the surrounding area is lush with various plants and flowers.
Special Interests - En Kara Vineyards To the west of the city sets a quiet little vineyard, which produces once per year. The house is small, decorated with the touch of a woman who though long gone, her memory remains. To the North, the Vosk River. To the South, as far as one can see, the sweet fruit which yields some of the finest wines to be found.
